Making Peace out of Confusion

I found a link on another blog that was something I would find useful.  It's a website LibraryThing.com and it is incredibly helpful for homeschooling moms.  It allows you to catalog all of your books and then print out the list.  This will make it so much easier for me to plan my lessons!  I won't have to keep getting up and checking out books, or piling them all up in front of me to go through.  Now I can just grab my catalog of books, look at my list and see what I need.  The books that had different subjects in them, I put those subjects into the tag lines.  Here is a link to see my catalog and you can also make one of your own!
In order to use this efficiently, I need to go through my books.  That also means that I don't want to catalog books that I am done using or won't use anymore.  So I have weeded out all of those books.  Then I re-organized my shelves with all of our school stuff on them.  I also got rid of some of the kids books that we don't need anymore.  This helped to make more room to put some of the books that were up too high for them to reach, but they should have access to, down to their level.  The kids had to clean out their shoe-boxes.  These are just those foldable laundry hampers.  I use them to put their shoes, jackets, bike helmets and other outside toys in.  This makes things so much easier!  So now my school area is just about all clean.  There are a few loose ends that I need to tie up.  But more than likely, those will be done tomorrow.  I am tired and going to tackle things that I need to do while sitting down!  lol  I finished cataloguing my books so I really should do some typing.
I have lots of things to type; packing lists, recipes for church cookbook, recipes for myself and it seems like there is something else.  I have a whole list in my household notebook.

Devotional for the Disorganized: Week 2

For God is not the author of confusion but of peace...
1 Corinthians 14:33
That is the verse for this week.  I have definitely had a week where I had to seek God's peace.  Depending upon Him through Hemi's disappearance this week was hard, but I did it.
During one of my prayers I told Him that I know He is in charge, but it just seems so harsh for a little girl to lose dog then cat in a month.  That was her solace.  Why take it from her?  But I didn't want to question God, He knows.  So I gave it to Him and just stayed strong for my children.  I had a strange calmness about Hemi missing all week.  It was my cat and I thought he was one of the coolest I've ever owned, why was I so calm about it?  So accepting?  So........at peace?  Because I gave it to my Lord.  He is the author of peace.  God is not confusion.  I may have been confused, but He knew.  Always.
Now as far as this goes with cleaning my house?  lol  Who knows!?
My house is becoming more and more organized.  I know that the more organized my house is, the more peace we will feel in our home.  I have faith that the Lord will fill me with the motivation that I need to finish my home.  I have come so far already!

Week One: Trustin' Him

I found a home school blog called Dandelion Seeds that had posted a devotional for me!  It's called A Devotional For the Unorganized.  I am starting this devotional today.  It is a 52 week devotion to get more organized in many ways.  I need this soooo bad!  lol

So today starts Week One: Trustin' Him.  The verse for the week is Proverbs 3:5, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

I am trusting that My Heavenly Father will slowly lead me through the next year and show me His ways and how He wants me to keep and manage my home.  He has already started, obviously, because I have this devotional journal and everything else with it in my possession.  Are you willing to follow me on my journal and travels through the next year?  Hopefully I will learn a lot and have a much better organized home.  I got this devotion and journal from Dandelion Seeds

I am very excited to start this!
