A lot of condensed versions on my list right now.  Oh well.  I still want to read them.  I am sure that there will be a few on my list for 2010 that is not on this list.  But that is because I read books at random from the library, read for home school both for myself to teach and learn and to read to the kids.  I am currently keeping a list of books that I have read in 2010 along with the dates that I read them.  I have been keeping a list for 3 years now and I keep refining my list better each year.  I will be adding that to my blog here shortly. 

 


My Household Notebook

Actually I call mine "Mom's Home Journal".  I have gotten most of it done.  I still have a few pages to type up or finishing filling out, but most of it's done.  Why do I need this, you may be asking me?

Simple.  This notebook helps me to stay organized and on time.  I have lots of information in this notebook that helps my on a day-to-day basis.  I have seen this all over the internet on people's blogs or other web pages.  If you would like any specific sheets, I have the links for them all, but I don't think that my followers need them because I believe they have their own or they are my friend on facebook.  lol

First we start with the front cover.  I used to have a graphic on the front cover that I designed, but this time I went with one that I got for free that matched a lot of the pages I used for the inside of my notebook for Spring. 

Next is my pocket that I use for my hand lotion, pencils, pens, erasers, stamps and anything small that I want to keep in my journal notebook.

After that I have pages in front that I don't want to forget about during the week.  If I keep seeing them, I will remember them.  Then I have a blue pocket folder to hold papers in that I need to do something with immediately.  Then I have blank paper, and  my blank paper is printed out to match the Spring theme.
Next I have my Year at a Glance for 2010 and pages with 3 months at a time on them for planning for the months April-December and these all are from my Spring theme kit.  Then I printed out the matching monthly calendars to have each month easy and accessible.  All of these pages are put inside clear page protectors.

My To-Do section is next.  I have a To-Do List sheet first.  Then the next page has Business, Family and Financial on it.  Then Homemaking, HomeSchooling, Ministry.  Then Personal all on one day.  The next 3 to-do pages are split up for each day with another section for next week's planning.  I have a page for Special Dates, Details & Notes to Remember along with a page of things To Buy for our house.

Next I have a section for each day of the week.  This is one part that I haven't finished filling out yet.

Then a section for Family.  So far the only thing that I have in here is the Hidden Dairy Cheat Sheet that I needed when we were making Kyle's diet low on dairy.

Financial I haven't filled out yet.

Homemaking is the next section.  I have a page for Home Blessings, a few pages of Grocery Lists that can be cut in half, my pantry inventory, my freezer inventory (not filled out yet but on my to-do list!), a grocery master list and several recipes for making my own soaps and detergents.

My HomeSchool section is next.  I have my weekly plan written out on My Weekly Glance page.  Then all of the various lesson plans, papers, schedules, journal calendars, lapbook directions and whatever I else I need to keep for school go in here.

Ministry is next.  My prayer list and my Devotion for the Unorganized journal is in here.

Meals & Recipes includes my meal plans, a clear protector sheet with take-out menus and some of my recipes, including a section for Recipes To Try.

My Personal section has my own notes and such for myself that I want or need to keep.

And last but not least is my Telephone & Address Section.

Oh really, last is 3 folders.  One for family info and the other 2 are still empty. 

Week One: Trustin' Him

I found a home school blog called Dandelion Seeds that had posted a devotional for me!  It's called A Devotional For the Unorganized.  I am starting this devotional today.  It is a 52 week devotion to get more organized in many ways.  I need this soooo bad!  lol

So today starts Week One: Trustin' Him.  The verse for the week is Proverbs 3:5, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

I am trusting that My Heavenly Father will slowly lead me through the next year and show me His ways and how He wants me to keep and manage my home.  He has already started, obviously, because I have this devotional journal and everything else with it in my possession.  Are you willing to follow me on my journal and travels through the next year?  Hopefully I will learn a lot and have a much better organized home.  I got this devotion and journal from Dandelion Seeds. 

I am very excited to start this!  

 

My How Time Flies...

I see that it's been a little over a month since I've last blogged on here.  I have been very busy!

Things settled down a little bit after we had to get rid of Messalina.  I started trying to get more organized and the house picked up more.  I've gotten more organized but the house doesn't look any better!  I have been working on it though.  I found A Devotional for the Unorganized on a home school blog and I have decided to start that.  Today is the first day I am trying.  I have included the link for her site in my blog.  It's from Dandelion Seeds.  Anways, I am starting Week One: Trustin' Him today.  I have also printed out some of the journal pages and the visual posters for myself.  I will be blogging about that but I want to do it in a separate entry.

I have been busy learning about ants for the lapbook study that the kids did.  I know that I learned way more than they did!  I just delve into subjects and tend to get lost!  But I share the proper info and read the right books to the kids for them.  Tomorrow we are starting a new lapbook study for Easter.  This study is on a few of the hymn writers that wrote popular Easter hymns.  I have only chosen 3 out of the whole packet so that I don't overwhelm the kids, after all, they are only 5 and 6!  lol  So I chose Christ The Lord is Risen Today by Charles Wesley, Christ Jesus Lay In Death's Strong Bands by Martin Luther and Christ Is Risen by Fanny Crosby.  I read a junior book on Martin Luther so far, and I thought it was really good.  I have an adult book coming in to the library for me along with one about Fanny Crosby.  I am not going to go overboard with info for the kiddies though, this is just for my knowledge.

I have decided also to post my household notebook on my blog.  I haven't decided exactly what to call mine yet.  I am leaning towards Mom's Home Journal because that is what it says on the side of my binder!  lol  It was a free Spring printable for household notebooks.  But that is a subject to get more fully in depth with another entry.  

This morning we go to Sunday school and church.  This afternoon I have handbell practice and afterward we will stay for evening service more than likely to go to the pie social after that.  As much as I hate getting up early and getting ready early, I love these days when we go to church.  

I better scoot along so that I can get Amanda into the bath, get Kyle dressed and fed, get myself dressed, feed Amanda and try to blog a little more!
